Group Phase
Format
There are 6 qualifying groups each with 4 countries. 6 matches will be played in each group so there will be 36 group matches played in total.
Predictions Required
You need to predict the result of each match in each group. The website will automatically calculate the group positions for each country based on your match predictions.
Point Scoring
The point scoring system detailed below looks complicated but has been designed to reflect the relative degree of difficulty predicting the various possible results. For instance, results of 1-0, 0-1, 2-1, 1-2, 2-0 and 0-2 are the most common and most likely. Thus, these score slightly less than correct predictions of draws or higher scoring matches. There are also negative points scored in the Group Phase matches to reflect predictions that are incorrect and penalize predictions that are way off the mark.
The following points will be awarded for each match in both the Group and Knock-Out Phases:
(a) Correct result (i.e. winning/losing teams or draw) | 4 points |
(b) Correct goals for first team (correct result predicted or not) | 1 point |
(c) Correct goals for second team (correct result predicted or not) | 1 point |
(d) Correct goals for first team AND goals >= 4 (correct result or not) | 1 bonus point |
(e) Correct goals for second team AND goals >= 4 (correct result or not) | 1 bonus point |
(f) Correctly predicting a draw | 1 bonus point |
The following will apply in the Group Phase only:
(g) Exactly correct score (<= 4 goals in the match) | 2 bonus points |
(h) Exactly correct score (> 4 goals in the match) | 3 bonus points |
(i) Correct result and correct goal difference (GD) in match but wrong score | 1 bonus point |
(j) Correct result but difference between predicted GD & actual GD > 3 goals | minus 1 point |
(k) Incorrect result and difference between predicted GD & actual GD <= 3 goals | minus 1 point |
(l) Incorrect result and difference between predicted GD & actual GD > 3 goals | minus 2 points |
(m) Difference in goals predicted & actual goals scored in match > 4 goals | minus 1 point |
Points will be awarded for group positions as follows:
- Correct place in group table: 3 points
- One place out in group table: 1 point
Examples:
Predictions:
Actual Result: Poland 1 Austria 1

2nd | Poland | 2nd | Austria | 0 | (Austria two places out) | ||

4th | Austria | 4th | France | 0 | (France three places out) |
Knock-Out Phase
Format
There are 4 knock-out rounds - Last 16, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and the Final itself. (Note, there is no third place play-off in the European Championships).
All of the ties in the knock-out phase will be played over 90 minutes. Where the score is level after 90 minutes a further 30 minutes of extra-time will be played. Should the score still be level after this period of extra-time, penalty kicks will be taken to determine the winner of the tie.
Predictions Required
The line-up of the Last 16 round will have been automatically built by the website based on your predictions entered in the Group Phase with the top two countries from each of the 6 groups plus the 4
best 3rd placed countries qualifying giving 16 qualifiers in total.
All you need to do is enter your prediction for each of the Last 16 ties resulting in 8 qualifying countries for the Quarter-Finals. The line-up for the Quarter-Finals will again be built automatically by the website. You should enter your predictions for the 4 Quarter-Final ties as before and so on through the Semi-Finals until you have predicted the outcomes of the Third Place Playoff and the Final resulting in a winning country.
The score you enter for each of the knock-out ties should be your prediction of the final score whether that be after 90 minutes or after extra-time. For example, if you believe Country A will beat Country B 2-1 after extra-time, simply enter 2-1 as your prediction. As long as A do beat B 2-1 that will score you correct points regardless of whether the actual match ended after 90 minutes or extra-time.
Where you want to predict a draw, the score you enter should be the one you expect at the end of extra time, not after 90 minutes. For example, if you think a tie will end 1-1 after 90 minutes but 2-2 after extra time then enter 2-2 as your prediction. There will be a tick box to allow you to select which country you predict will qualify via the penalty shoot-out.
Point Scoring
Points will be awarded for correctly predicting countries to qualify for each knock-out round. 2 points will be scored for each country correctly predicted to qualify for the Last 16, 5 points for the Quarter-Finals, 8 points for the Semi-Finals, 10 points for the Final and 15 points if you correctly predict the winning country overall.
For the knock-out ties themselves, points can only be scored for countries you have correctly predicted to qualify for that stage. Where an actual tie involves a country you have not predicted to qualify for that stage, you cannot score points on them regardless of whether you correctly predicted the result of the match or not.
Where you have correctly predicted a country to qualify for that stage, points will be scored as per the Group Phase but with one small difference. Since your predicted line-up of the knock-out ties is likely to differ from the actual line-up of those ties, the prediction for each individual country will be looked at in isolation regardless of who they are playing.
For example, if you predict Germany to beat Poland 2-0 in the Last 16, the website will look at what Germany actually did, i.e. did they win and did they score 2 goals. Who they actually played is not taken into account for point scoring.
Negative points will also no longer in play during the knock-out phase.

Predictions:
** - both Denmark and Poland were actually eliminated in the Group Phase and did not qualify for the Last 16.
