The number of bonus competitions running alongside the main prediction competition will depend on how many entries I receive. The greater the number of entries, the greater the prize pot allowing more bonus competitions to be run. The prize per competition will be announced once all entries have been received.
The bonus competitions will run as follows:
Always Running:
- Correct or nearest prediction of total number of goals scored in the tournament (excluding penalty shoot-outs)
(total derived by adding up all goals from your predicted results) - Time of first goal in the Final (or if you think the final will end goalless, the number of the first penalty scored in the penalty shoot-out)
(e.g. enter 1 if you think first penalty in shoot-out will be scored, 2 if you think the first penalty will be missed but second scored, 3 if you think both the first two penalties will be missed but the third scored and so on)
Additional bonus competitions running where 20 – 50 entries received:
- Most points scored in each group (in effect, 12 separate competitions)
- Total number of yellow cards shown in the tournament across the 104 matches
Additional bonus competitions running where 51 – 80 entries received:
- Most spot-on predictions in the Group Phase
- Team to have first straight red card (i.e. not two yellow cards in same match)
(Tie breaker: Where two or more people have correctly predicted the same country the winner will be determined by the most number of points scored on that country by each person)
Additional bonus competitions running where 81 – 120 entries received:
- Most points scored in matches involving the 2 home nations (separate competition for England and Scotland)
- Total of shirt numbers worn by goal scoring players in the two semi-final ties (i.e. shirt number x number of goals scored by any player)
(for example, Player 1 wears shirt number 9 and scores 2 goals. Player 2 wears shirt number 17 and scores 1 goal. Total will be 9 x 2 (for player 1) + 1 x 17 (for player 2) = 18 + 17 = 35.)
Additional bonus competitions running where 121 or more entries received:
- First country to miss a penalty (missed or saved by the goalkeeper) (excluding penalty shoot-outs)
- Country with the worst disciplinary record (most points scored where each yellow card = 1 point, each red card = 5 points)
