FIFA World Cup Finals 2026 Prediction Competition

Introduction

The FIFA World Cup Finals 2026 are being played in Canada, Mexico and the United States of America between Thursday 11th June and Sunday 19th July 2026 with the opening match between Mexico and South Africa kicking off on Thursday 11th June 2026 at 20.00 BST.

The competition has been expanded from the usual 32 countries to 48 countries meaning that there are now a total of 104 matches to be played across 37 days.

The Prediction Competition requires each participant to predict the outcome of all 104 matches in the tournament, gaining points for correct and partially correct predictions or losing points for incorrect predictions. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the competition to the participants gaining the most points. The number of prize places available will depend on the number of participants where more participants means more prize places.

In addition to the main prediction competition there will also be a number of bonus competitions running alongside. These have smaller prizes but are designed to (hopefully) keep interest for everyone taking part even if your main entry is not going so well. The bonus competitions run throughout the tournament including the Final itself. The number of bonus competitions run will again depend on the number of participants overall. The more taking part, the greater the number of bonus competitions and the value of the corresponding prizes.

You can submit as many entries as you wish. Multiple entries for yourself are very welcome as are entries on behalf of family members, friends, work colleagues, pets and so on.

Entry Fees

Entry fee is £7.50 per entry. £1.50 of this will go towards a charitable element. The remaining £6 will be added to the overall prize pot for the competition.

The benefiting charity will be decided by the participants. I will ask for suggestions from everyone. It can be a major charity or a smaller local charity.

If you prefer not to support the charitable element of the competition that is absolutely fine. It is completely voluntary. Please do not feel obliged or uncomfortable if you prefer to opt out. To pay just the entry fee for the competition please simply select the £6 entry fee option when making payment.

** Please note that I charge no admin fees and make no profit from running this competition. The same is not true of PayPal however. They are a business after all. They charge me 2.9% + 30p fixed fee for every entry fee paid through them, i.e. 52p per £7.50 entry fee. I will cover this charge up to a maximum of £100 to ensure that there are no deductions from the amount paid to the charity but, unlike PayPal, I am not a business and need to cap my contribution at £100. As such, should I receive more than 192 entries, from the 192nd entry onwards the 52p PayPal charge will deducted from the amount of each entry fee added to the overall prize pot, i.e. £5.48 will be added per entry from the 192nd entry onwards. The charity will continue to receive the full £1.50 from every entry regardless of how many entries I receive.

In terms of payment, anyone who knows me personally can make payment by cash or bank transfer should they wish. Otherwise, payment will need to be made via PayPal using the “Make Payment” option from the menu strip. To do this you will need a PayPal account but personal accounts are free and you will not be charged for paying the entry fee(s).

Closing Date

All entries must be submitted on the website by 20:00 BST on Thursday 11th June 2026 at which point entry will be closed. Before then, however, it will be possible to make changes to your predictions as many times as you wish right up until the kick-off of Match 1.
