FIFA World Cup Finals 2026 Prediction Competition

Introduction

The FIFA World Cup Finals 2026 are being played in Canada, Mexico and the USA between Thursday 11th June and Sunday 19th July 2026 with the opening match between Mexico and South Africa kicking off on Thursday 11th June 2026 at 20.00 BST.

The competition has been expanded from the usual 32 countries to 48 countries meaning that there are now a total of 104 matches to be played across 37 days.

The Prediction Competition requires each participant to predict the outcome of all 104 matches in the tournament, gaining points for correct and partially correct predictions or losing points for incorrect predictions. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the competition to the players gaining the most points. The number of prize places available will depend on the number of players where more players means more prize places.

In addition to the main prediction competition there will also be a number of bonus competitions running alongside. These have smaller prizes but are designed to (hopefully) keep interest for everyone taking part even if your main entry is not going so well. The bonus competitions will run throughout the tournament including the Final itself. The number of bonus competitions run will again depend on the number of players overall. The more taking part, the greater the number of bonus competitions and the value of the corresponding prizes.

You can submit as many entries as you wish. Multiple entries for yourself are very welcome as are entries on behalf of family members, friends, work colleagues, pets and so on.

Entry Fees

As per my previous competitions I will be including a charitable element to the entry fees but please note that the charitable element is purely voluntary. Please do not feel obliged to contribute or uncomfortable if you prefer not to. There is nothing wrong if you decide it is not for you. Not everyone is comfortable giving money to charities. That, I totally understand. Also be assured that what everyone decides will not be disclosed by me or visible on this website.

To this end, entry fees will be split between a set fee for each entry to the competition itself plus additional options available to add a charitable contribution as desired.

The set fee to take part in the prediction competition itself with no charitable contribution will be £7.50.

To allow the addition of a charitable contribution I am setting up 3 extra payment options of £8.00 (50p to charity), £9.00 (£1.50 to charity) and £10.00 (£2.50 to charity). The benefiting charity will be decided by the participants. I will ask for suggestions from everyone. It can be a major charity or a smaller local charity.

For people who know me personally payment can be made using cash or bank transfer if that is preferred. Otherwise, payment will need to be made via PayPal using the “Make Payment” option from the menu strip. To do this you will need a PayPal account but personal accounts are free and you will not be charged for when paying the entry fee(s).

** Important ** Please note that I charge no admin fees and make no profit from running this competition. The same is not true of PayPal however. They are a business after all. They charge me 2.9% + 30p fixed fee for every entry fee paid through them, i.e. between 52p and 59p per £7.50 to £10.00 entry fee. I will cover this charge up to a maximum of £50 to ensure that there are no deductions from either the prize pot or the amount paid to the charity but, unlike PayPal, I am not a business and need to cap my contribution at £50. As such, should I receive more than 85 entries, from the 86th entry onwards the PayPal charge will deducted from the amount of each entry fee added to the overall prize pot, i.e. £6.91 to £6.98 will be added to the prize pot per entry rather than £7.50. The charity will continue to receive the full amount contributed regardless of the number of entries I receive however.

Closing Date

All entries must be submitted on the website by 20:00 BST on Thursday 11th June 2026 at which point entry will be closed. Before then, however, it will be possible to make changes to your predictions as many times as you wish right up until the kick-off of Match 1.
